Hugo Rifkind in the Times says, in essence, if Yorkshire wants to be free of London’s domination it should emulate Scotland

January 30, 2014

For those who didn’t get the chance to read the excellent article by Hugo Rifkind in The Times last week, it is reproduced below. He is, of course, spot on and it is very encouraging that a column in The Times should be picking up the theme. Equally, he needs to be aware that there are many who do have ‘sense’ and who do see Scottish devolution as a thing both enviable and worth emulating.

All of England should become a bit Scottish –  If Yorkshire, the Midlands and the South West want to be free of London’s domination they should emulate Scotland by Hugo Rifkind
