Unleashing Yorkshire’s potential: the next stage

The case for Yorkshire having the powers to determine its own future has never been more relevant. Hardly a day goes by without reports showing that Yorkshire is missing out on investment or funding  of one kind or another as a result of the dead hand of Westminster and Whitehall. The Yorkshire Devolution Movement has campaigned tirelessly over the past few months to expose these attempts to hold back Yorkshire’s progress, attracting a great deal of support from those seeking a solution to the imbalance of power which exists in the UK and to help unleash Yorkshire’s undoubted potential. In addition, the media too has been sympathetic towards YDM’s campaigning work which along with social media such as this blog, Facebook and Twitter has given a profile to the campaign for Yorkshire devolution that has not been witnessed for many years.

Now, however, we need to move onto the next stage. We need to take the campaign out to an even wider audience.  At the same time we need to get the major political parties to sit up and listen. We want them to feel the pressure from the people in the region to force them to include devolution in their manifestoes for the 2015 General Election. We want Yorkshire devolution to be the most talked about political topic in this region for the next few years.

You are invited to be a part of this exciting next stage. The Yorkshire Devolution Movement is holding a meeting in York on Saturday September 28th between 10.30am and 3.00pm. We would love to see you there. Please confirm emailing us at
